Electoral reviews of new unitary authorities
On 26 February 2008, we started electoral reviews of Cornwall, Shropshire and Wiltshire. These reviews will consider the electoral arrangements for these new unitary authorities. As part of these reviews we will be considering the number of councillors to be elected to the new unitary authority, and the specific warding pattern.
For further information, including how we intend on consulting during these reviews visit our electoral reviews page.
Further electoral reviews published
On 12 December 2007, the Electoral Commissioners decided to accept our final recommendations for new electoral arrangements in South Lakeland, with two modifications.
In addition, they accepted our recommendations for arrangements in Basingstoke and Deane and Barrow-in-Furness, without modification.
We also published our draft recommendations for the Isle of Wight and our final recommendations for the further electoral review of Basingstoke and Deane in 2007.
