Isle of Wight FER
On 13 February 2007 we started a Further Electoral Review of the Isle of Wight.
Stage Three ended on 17 January 2008. We are now formulating our final recommendations which are due to be published during Summer 2008.
Stage two ended on 24 October 2007. During this stage, we considered all submissions received in our stage one consultation period and formulated our draft recommendations on the future electoral arrangements for the Isle of Wight.
Our draft recommendations have now been published. However, In relation to our proposed parish electoral arrangements for Cowes Town, there is an omission from our report and accompanying map. Under our draft recommendations, the parish of Cowes Parish should comprise 16 parish councillors, the same as under the existing arrangements, representing four parish wards: Cowes Castle East parish ward (returning four councillors), Cowes Castle West parish ward (returning four councillors), Cowes South West (returning four councillors) and Cowes Medina parish ward (returning four councillors).
All representations received by 17 January 2008 will be taken into account when we formulate our final recommendations. Representations can be made in writing to reviews@boundarycommittee.org.uk. Alternatively, submissions can be made online- simply fill in the form and submit.
Submissions can also be made in writing to:
